About Me
My love for photography started in a small classroom my sophomore year in high school. An amazing art teacher taught me everything about using a manual film camera and developing film and prints. The next three years of high school were filled with all things photography - skipping lunch to work on photos, taking pictures of my friends, making my own "pin hole" camera out of a box and lots of electrical tape! Ah, those were the days!
I attended Columbia College in Chicago, IL and took a photography and digital photography class. This was a very exciting and influential experience for me. I decided not to attend college there, after meeting my wonderful husband and settling down here in Champaign-Urbana.
I kept taking photos of anyone that would pose, and quickly made the transition to the digital world. Although I do believe that the best equipment won't guarantee the best photos, it does help, and I LOVE my Nikon equipment! I now shoot with a Nikon D200 and SB-800 flash.
Now I am busy building my business and capturing moments that my clients don't ever want to forget. I love to walk into someone's house and see a beautiful image on the wall. It saddens me that some families cannot do this because of the cost of having a professional photo taken. I started my business and continue my business to offer something different - affordable photos that are still AMAZING. I plan to maintain this focus as long as my business is running. Everyone should be able to afford beautiful photography!
